Little Sadie Walks The Hillside

Little Sadie walks the hillside,
Where her grandma's laid to rest,
Every day she brings her flowers,
And lays them gently on her breast.

While the wind blows cross the meadows,
There an eerie shadow falls,
Just beyond the lonesome valley,
Could it be her grandma calls?

Little Sadie lost her mamma,
And her daddy, years gone by,
Now that grandma's gone to join them,
Who'll wipe the tears from Sadie's eyes?

Sadie never left the valley ,
Sixteen years she called it home.
Loving arms no more to guide her,
Lie beneath a bed of stone.

Years and years of pain and sorrow,
Took their toll on Sadie's life,
Till one day a tall dark stranger
Took barefoot Sadie for his wife,

On that day she took red roses,
Where her grandma's spirit roamed,
She could hear the angels singing,
Grandma's finally going home.
